Shadowrun at your local game store contest!
Here’s the deal: Visit your local game store on August 11th-18th and buy a copy of Shadowrun, Fourth Edition, 20th Anniversary Edition or Dawn of the Artifacts: Dusk — both of these books have a street date of August 11th, so your FLGS should have them on the shelves that day (assuming they’re in the USA — international stores may be later than that. Sorry, guys!).
After you’ve bought your books, take at least two pictures of yourself at the store, with those books — one with the store clerk/owner/manager (Ask first, of course) and then one of you in front of the store itself, with their sign clearly visible.
Mail those pictures to info@shadowrun4.com with the subject line “I bought Shadowrun!” by August 18th with your name and the name/address/email address of your local store. Please include a note if you don’t want us to publish your pictures on our blog.
We’ll be picking a random Shadowrun fan from the submissions and be awarding them a secret prize!

See, my problem is for Shadowrun I pretty much have to buy on-line. I’ve asked the FLGS about carrying more Shadowrun Products but all they carry is the core rule book. I actually have better luck getting SR books from Barnes and Nobles, Borders and Books-a-million (are they ever still around?) don’t carry anything other than D&D these days.

If your FLGS carries the core books, they should have no problem ordering other books for you. That’s why we tell people to give their local store a call when we announce a street date — if stores know in advance that they’re already going to sell the copies they’ve ordered … well, they’re more likely to buy more of them.

hey Adam, what about us that are going to be at Gencon all this time and not able to get the book from FLGS? will picks in front of the Cat booth work?

My local FLGS just moved, and they don’t have a sign on the outside of their new location yet. Is that OK for a submission? (I was just there yesterday to pre-order both those books, as well to double-check my Strategic Ops order!)

Lime: Yeah, that will be fine.
boost: Nope, sorry. This little contest is purely for those buying at their FLGS that week. While gamers at GenCon get plenty of perks, those staying home and supporting their local stores should get a chance at something cool, too!

*cry* My FLGS did not have it in today. They are more like a FLCS (comics) that just happens to have some gaming stuffs. Better than nothing but just barely. Will check in tomorrow. I am glad that the contest runs until the 15th.

I sent in my submission earlier, but I didn’t have an e-mail address for my FLGS. Should I have included a phone number or a fax number?

MrTim: Yes please, mail me some contact info for the store.
