Shadowrun Missions Developer Chat – 6/20/2009

This month we will be discussing Shadowrun Missions and be giving away a FREE copy of a Shadowrun Missions Scenario (of the winner’s choosing) to one of the chat participants.

On the agenda we have:

  • Shadowrun Missions Release Schedule
  • State of the Campaign
  • Looking Forward
  • Writing for Catalyst
  • Art and You
  • Open Q&A

We will also be answering rules specific questions as they pertain to Shadowrun Missions during the Open Question and Answer section. As these questions often require some research, we will be accepting questions prior to the chat. Any question which is not answered in the chat will be answered and posted with the complete list. Please send your questions to missions@shadowrun4.com, or feel free to post them in this topic.

The chat will be Saturday, June 20th, at 10 AM PDT (Seattle Time), at the Shadowrun Chat Site.

That means the chat is:

10 AM Seattle/LA
11 AM Denver
12 PM Chicago
1 PM NYC
7 PM Cape Town
9 PM Dubai
6 PM Lagos
Sun 2 AM Neo-Tokyo
Sun 1 AM Hong Kong
8 PM Nairobi
12 PM Tenochtitlan
7 PM Geneva
12:30 PM Caracas
8 PM Istanbul

Or you can look up a non-SR location at The Fixed Time World Clock.
See you on Saturday!

    Discussing a release schedule? Really?

  2. JohnDunn Says:

For Shadowrun Missions? Which has a monthly release schedule? With adventures numbered up to 11 scheduled to run at GenCon in August? Yeah, I think we can talk about that schedule.

  3. Unnamed Technomancer Says:

I can’t be at the chat because of other demands on my time and my multitasking is not that good yet, so i will post my question here.

I have been following and endless debate about the use of the software skill by Technomancers and if they can use it for more than just threading. it would be nice to get an official answer about how Technomancer created programs (not complex forms) interact with drowns and nodes.

  4. Unnamed Technomancer Says:

Another question I have in regards to the missions and Technomancers. I have a Free Sprite as a contact and I have a Technomancer group as a contact can I use the two contacts to get the 40% discount on Submersions?

  5. Stephen McQuillan Says:

Feel free to post questions here or send us an e-mail, Aaron and I will chase down Devs for any question we can’t answer.

  6. GeLrIrToCrH Says:

When you say looking forward… does this mean we might be getting some clues
as to the location of the next SR missions? (I hope it’s Boston)

  7. Megu Says:

It’s been in the former US each time so far. I’d prefer to see something a little further afield.

  8. TKDNinjaInBlack Says:

Bobby Derie suggests I should ask this question for the chat, so here goes:

So as I’m reading through Augmentation, I see certain penetration values for diseases are positive, and some are negative. Here’s a list:

    HSV-5 (1), Tuberculosis (-3), VITAS-3 (-2), Bedlam (1), Croisade (2)

If we handle penetration just like we handle armor piercing in combat, negative AP is better and reduces armor and positive adds to it. Does this mean that our viruses with positive penetration work less against protection systems and actually add dice?

I know this should be a simple answer, but whenever an increase armor notation is used for AP, it is denoted with a plus symbol with the number (ie, +2). With all of these penetration values, there is no addition symbol and has me wondering if they truly add value or if we just forgot the negatives?

  9. GeLrIrToCrH Says:

Ok, here’s a bone lacing question. In Augmentation, it says you can’t mix metal bone lacing with either ceramic or kevlar bone lacing. BUT, metal bone lacing is metal molecules interlaced with bone cells and ceramic (or kevlar) bone lacing only COAT the bones. Sooo technically a character should be able to have both, right? …Right?

  10. unknown technomancer Says:

How can a cheracter lower their public awarnes number if they have received extra public awarness not drived from street cred and noteriety
