Shadowrun Missions PDF Exclusives!
We have two new PDF exclusive releases today — the first is Everyone’s Your Friend, the first scenario in season three of the Shadowrun Missions campaign. Everyone’s Your Friend is a free download to get you started in Shadowrun Missions!
The second is Manhattan: The Rotten Apple, a 32-page mini-sourcebook that can be used with the Shadowrun Missions campaign or by itself!
SRM3-00: Everyone’s Your Friend
Sometimes following up on a job really means following. You’ve been hired to track down an old acquaintance who’s fled across the continent.
In the first scenario of the New York City Shadowrun Missions campaign, characters are introduced to the challenges of running among the bright lights of Manhattan. Provisions allow characters who participated in the Denver campaign to transition their characters to this new location. This 25-page scenario includes a complete adventure, player handouts, and record handling sheets for participating in the Shadowrun Missions (SRM) campaign.
Shadowrun Missions is an international shared campaign. The goal is to have characters and adventures that all share the same universe, and of course have fun while doing it. Missions are played at local game stores, conventions, game days, and as home games. Players who participate in these scenarios will have a real opportunity to influence the Shadowrun game world, and play their characters in events worldwide.
Manhattan: The Rotten Apple
Dominated by the Manhattan Development Consortium (MDC), the City represents the largest contiguous corporate enclave in the Sixth World. This volume grants a look into the neighborhoods of Manhattan, the constant scrutiny of its security, and the activities of the thirteen corporations that oversee its development.
This setting is a crucial part of the New York City Shadowrun Missions campaign.
This 32-page volume serves as a guide to players so that they can prepare their characters to deal with the finer details of the setting. Gamemasters are also well suited to use this book, as it grants them a deeper insight into the neighborhoods of Manhattan than can be provided in scenarios.

$3.95?
So no more free shadowrun missions in the future?
(yes, i know this one is for free, but… i hate drivethrurpg and i will not download it)

Smiling Jack, if you have issues with DriveThruRPG, then please download them from our online store at BattleCorps, instead. :-)
The bottom line is: for years, the people working on Shadowrun Missions did so for free. That’s not a sustainable model as a subset of professional publishing business; we want to be able to compensate those people and want them to keep working on Missions, and they need incentive to do so. We announced months ago that Season 3 would be going to a paid format, and we think $4 for an adventure is a very reasonable price.
Of course, if you run Shadowrun Missions as part of our demo team, you will get early — and free — access to them.

Personally, I think $4 for a PDF adventure is perfectly reasonable. It’s basically the same idea as the old published modules (which were $5-$lots back in the day, depending on size), except instant access downloads. It’s cheaper and instant, and that suits me just fine.

Ah, got to download it as an ebook from the site directly. OK, time to lump it together with those other ebook-only releases (Digital Grimoire for instance) and update myself to an online connection.
I guess the age of hardcopy truly is coming to an end… ;-)

hey i prefer the electronic copies. and i don’t mind paying the $4 per adventure. being a army soldier deployed means i cant take all my game books so electronic is cool. just wish you guys would convert all the old books to pdf also. and is there going to be any SR Mission involving the Cyberpirates theme?

I’m still a throwback and would prefer a hardcopy, but I recognize that I’m a dinosaur. Still, there must be other people who are with me on this…
March 26th, 2009 at 09:53:50
Megu, we’ll be releasing an entirely different series of adventures in print this year, in addition to the PDF-only Missions series. :-)

You’re not so much a dinosaur, Megu. I too prefer a store-purchased hardcopy. But with some materials being released exclusively on the web, it doesn’t hurt the wallet. Also, if you have the hardware, you can save the DL’s to CD-Rom as an archive/back-up.

AdamJury, how do I become part of the demo team for SR: Missions?
April 1st, 2009 at 07:21:53
Joining the demo team starts with going to their web site and enlisting. Here’s the link to the demo team’s site. Some of the paperwork can be done online, but some of it requires hardcopy.
