Daily Blogging: Informal iPhone Survey
Do you have an iPhone? Is it one of the original ones, or a spiffy new 3G one?
That’s it! I’m not asking for reviews or “such-and-such phone is better” or anything like that — I just want to know how many Shadowrun fans have an iPhone.
If you do, please post a comment!

I’ve got an ipod touch. not quite the same, but hey I’ve got most of the bells and whistles. Just need for my local area to start hosting more free wi-fi spots and it’s just as good minus the cell phone charges.
November 24th, 2008 at 12:56:42
Yep, one of the original ones. I love it!

I do in fact own an iPhone, and am very fond of it to date.

I’ve got the iPhone 3G (aka Version 2 Pocket Secretary). To a lot of people’s surprise, I haven’t Jailbroken it yet – I’ve decided to wait until I’m out of contract before that, just in case.
Once I’ve done that, it will (hopefully) become a Mark 1 Commlink :)

I have a 8GB and 16GB iPhone 3G
November 24th, 2008 at 13:48:30
I do – an original 2G version. Thinking of switching though as the DRM is really getting on my wick..
November 24th, 2008 at 13:51:59
I have a iPhone 3G and wished the PDF books would work on them. Some of them are to large to open on the phone without splitting the file into pieces.
November 24th, 2008 at 14:12:44
I’ve got one.
November 24th, 2008 at 14:21:48
New 3G one.

black 3G iphone 16GB
November 24th, 2008 at 17:38:12
I don’t have one, waiting for them to allow it’s use for a modem, as I need that for work.
November 24th, 2008 at 21:43:51
Black 3G iPhone, the smaller one.. eight gig? Man it’s late.
November 24th, 2008 at 21:53:01
Cellphones are too expensive. I don’t own any.
November 24th, 2008 at 22:05:00
I have an iPod Touch 2G … well no phone function … but nevertheless ALL Shadowrun 4th Edition pdf’s on it !
Works just great, no problems with file sizes
November 24th, 2008 at 22:23:45
I sell them, and use them occasionally…. Does that count?
November 24th, 2008 at 22:54:30
I’ve got a 3G, and it kicks sand in the faces of the other PDAs and smartphones I’ve had.
November 24th, 2008 at 23:38:01
I have black iPhone 3G, 16GB. The early predecessor of Shadowrun commlinks.
November 25th, 2008 at 02:20:21
I have an iphone 3G. And i hope the question was because you want to develop a shadowrun specific dice app (=
November 25th, 2008 at 02:36:42
I have a Nokia N96, which is broadly similar…
November 25th, 2008 at 05:36:03
I have a iPhone 3G with 16GB
November 25th, 2008 at 05:57:32
Iphone 3G here
November 25th, 2008 at 07:01:42
I have a windows mobile smart phone, not really interested in such a closed platform (even if it is pretty and fun)
November 25th, 2008 at 07:43:10
Yep! It’s an original 4GB phone.
November 25th, 2008 at 08:16:42
Have 3G iphone 16GB and love it… am really impressed with its functionality. Though I am glad that Blackberry has something to compete with it now so that they have to stay on their toes, Apple that is :D
November 25th, 2008 at 09:07:18
Black 16 gig here. Is this a hint that we’re about to see something totally boss re: Shadowrun +iPhone? :-)
November 25th, 2008 at 09:10:00
I’ll wait until the actual commlinks make their appearance, and only if they’re as inexpensive as my Tracfone.
November 25th, 2008 at 10:40:23
Nope… Just an old-style, 12-button keypad with directional and menu buttons.
November 25th, 2008 at 11:24:17
I do not have an I-Phone
November 25th, 2008 at 11:47:59
I just marked a bunch of comments as spam because they said “I have some other phone.” For the purposes of this question, I don’t care if you don’t have an iPhone, why you don’t have an iPhone, or if you hate Steve Jobs. :-)
November 25th, 2008 at 13:36:23
Black 3G 16gig. My first Apple purchase (I’m a die hard PC user), but IPhone has better support than Windows Mobile phones.
November 26th, 2008 at 07:55:44
I have an iPhone 3G 8GB. I wish it was within a lightyear of a ‘link though, stupid Apple.
John Constable: check out iTunes Plus, no DRM on there mate.
Ranneko: don’t hold your breath, it’s the networks denying that, not Apple
I work in telecoms, it gets under your skin :o)

I don’t have any type of IGadget, but I do have a netbook. I think of it as commlink v0.1. I carry it everywhere, and it does everything except make me tea (I hear there’s a mod, but it requires a Facility…). I can even use it for VoIP when I can get wireless access. I haven’t picked up a 3G adapter for it, but that would make it commlink v0.2 in my opinion.
November 27th, 2008 at 10:43:51
Are you really asking how many of us carry proto-commlinks? :)
November 27th, 2008 at 13:05:00
I got my original 8GB iPhone back March of this year. I think it’s awesome. I’ll be upgrading to a 3G 16GB iPhone when my contract’s up (unless they come up with a newer model by March of 2010).
November 29th, 2008 at 08:07:52
No Phone with a touchscreen for me, thanks. I need a phone which mechanically protects the keyboard to be used. At least after I send 50 SMS by accident one time…
ANd I especially don’t need a lifestyle-phone.
November 30th, 2008 at 09:13:06
I have a 3G w/16G.
November 30th, 2008 at 14:42:57
I have an iPod Touch. Think about getting a iPhone 3G as my current phone is dieing.
December 2nd, 2008 at 12:04:41
Two issues: 1) Vermont residents are not allowed to sign up for AT&T contracts, 2) the iPhone cannot be used as a modem.
I do have a Windows based PDA/cellphone, that while less slick and polished, does almost everything the iPhone does (and it works as a modem).

I just got a iPhone 3g in November, it’s so cool!
December 4th, 2008 at 11:36:44
I`ve got one – it’s the classic modell. It would be perfect, if you could make an app for a shadowrun character sheet :-D
December 5th, 2008 at 22:14:44
I have an iPhone 3G. I like it.
December 10th, 2008 at 13:15:57
