Emergence PDF Preview and other news

Wow, they’re actually letting me update this thing! That could be dangerous… :)

Let’s see–where to start? Emergence! We’ve got a decent bit of news about this latest release. For one thing, we’ve got a PDF preview for you. Check it out to get a taste of what to expect from this technomancer-focused plot book. Don’t worry if technomancers don’t play a big role in your game–there are plenty of things for groups without them to do. But if your team does include a technomancer, things might just be getting a little hot for awhile.

This book has been a long time coming, but after seeing the finals, I really think it was worth it, and I think you’ll agree. I was mostly involved in this one as a writer, and the writing process was a little different than I was used to. Usually I just go off and write my draft, then post it for commentary from the other writers and the devs. This time, it was necessary to stitch all five major sections together, with each writer playing off the others to make sure that everything ties into everything else, each section includes hooks that might not get resolved until a later section (or that resolve other hooks from
previous sections), and everything comes together seamlessly. I give Peter Taylor huge credit here for taking all our bits and pieces and forging them together into something that turned out really cool.

Oh, yeah: if you like the preview and can’t wait for the hardcopy, you can also buy it soon, at least in PDF version. The print version will be coming later–don’t want to say quite when yet and get myself in trouble. :)

Onward to upcoming projects: Augmentation is moving right along, with chapters being dev-edited and massaged, and it’s still on track for a Gen Con release. Artwork is starting to come in and I’m really impressed. We’ve got some new artists for this one as well as some old favorites–I think you’ll be pleased with what they’ve come up with.

One more bit of news this week: Arclight’s Japanese translation of Shadowrun, Fourth Edition has been approved, and will be available, in Rob’s words, “soonish.”

That’s it for this week!
