Rewind and Reload: “Shadowrun 2050″ & “Shadowrun Returns”

Chrome eyes. Computers called “decks.” Big cyberlimbs and bigger guns. It’s Shadowrun in the year it all started. Take a step back to Shadowrun’s roots with Shadowrun 2050, a book that combines Twentieth Anniversary Edition rules—the smoothest, most accessible rule set Shadowrun has ever had—with the setting that first made the Sixth World a legend.

Shadowrun 2050 has everything players and gamemasters need to dive into the grimy beauty that kicked off one of the greatest roleplaying settings of all times. With information on how to adapt Twentieth Anniversary Edition Matrix, gear, and magic rules for the 2050 setting, as well as in-universe information about the powers of the world, what shadowrunners will be up to, and who they’ll be running into, Shadowrun 2050 puts a new twist on the classic setting.

Captain Chaos. Maria Mercurial. The Laughing Man. Dirk Montgomery. JetBlack. Hatchetman. Nightfire. And the Shadowland poster who just called himself The Big ‘D’. These people and many others are waiting for you in the year that started it all, a setting brought back to life with new, full-color artwork showing the chrome, dirt, neon, and darkness that was in the heart of Shadowrun when it started and remains at its core today.

Shadowrun 2050 will be available in 2012!

Shadowrun Returns
And if that wasn’t enough, Catalyst Game Labs is inordinately pleased to announce that Jordan Weisman, the creator of Shadowrun, has returned to his roots and just launched a Kickstarter for the development of the computer game “Shadowrun Returns”. Check it out!

PDF goodness comes to Hero Lab for Shadowrun!

We’ve had good success in the past few years putting out all sorts of gear and other goodies in the PDF line of Shadowrun products, and now buckets of that fun stuff has made its way to Hero Labs for Shadowrun, offering even more options for character creation and development. They’ve released two PDF bundles–one already has the content from Digital Grimoire, This Old Drone, Way of the Adept, and Mil Spec Tech, and the critters from Parazoology will soon be added. Bundle number two offers the aircraft of Unfriendly Skies, the boats of Deadly Waves, and the large collection of weapons from Gun H(e)aven. Safehouses and a fifth PDF will be added to this bundle in the future.

If you need more information, go here. Make character management easier than ever, so you can spend more time focused on the always-critical task of shooting people in the face for money.

The title’s wrong, but everything else is perfect

Our second free gift to all of you is now available! The latest in the Street Legends series, Street Legends: Home Edition is ready for free download (Battleshop, DriveThruRPG). Note those locations have it as being called Shadowrun: Home Edition for the moment, which is something we intend to fix. But make sure you get all the wonderful, totally perfect content inside! Here are the details:

Crackpot Ideas Need Love Too

When developing Shadowrun, we come across all sorts of ideas. Good ideas. Crazy ideas. Ideas guaranteed to make us require yet more expensive psychotherapy bills. Yet we don’t believe there are bad ideas—only ideas that need the right outlet. Street Legends: Home Edition is our way of providing a place for those ideas that, in normal circumstances, leave us shaking our heads in confusion and/or despair.

Meet an ork in a sequined white jumpsuit, a ninja elf stripper, a set of triplets with an unusual bond, and the most enthusiastic, cheerful shadowrunner you’ll ever meet. They may not be you’re typical runners, but they’re all legends—in the sense of, if you met them, you’d still have trouble believing they existed.

Street Legends: Home Edition is for use with Shadowrun: Twentieth Anniversary Edition. If you must.
